DISKETTE or FLOPPY DISK
A floppy disk is a kind of computer storage medium used to store small amounts of data.
A diskette is consisted of a film placed in a plastic case.
The film is covered with a thin layer of particles capable of getting magnetized.
The read/write mechanism of a floppy disk is identical to that of a hard disk and is carried out through a drive containing a head (for data read/write).
Diskettes should be stored in place away from heat and strong magnetic fields as these two factors could destroy saved data.
