Mainframes are very powerful computers used to provide computer services and resources to workstations connected to it.
The workstations connected to a mainframe are usually of
thin client type.
Mainframes are used in big organizations and institutes to carry out intensive calculations,like statistics calculations,and several hundred workstations could be connected to a single mainframe.
